Which Areas Of The Face Can Be Improved With Cosmetic Filling?

There are many features of the face which change over time, adding character to our countenance and at the same time adding age.  These days when our features change people tend to think of old age before they think of added character as they did in times past, largely due to the available options accessible to us today in order to repair our aging bodies.   The face could likely be one of the most often used parts of our body, working continuously to express our selves or as a side effect of our concerns- either we are smiling or frowning, concerned or laughing.  Virtually any consequence of this perpetual movement of facial muscles can be addressed with today’s modern methods of aesthetic treatment.

*Worry lines- those horizontal lines on the forehead are some of the first to appear as we age, often appearing in our teens and early twenties, but more often in our thirties.
*Glabellar lines- the vertical lines between our eyebrows are the result of repeated retraction of the corresponding muscles.
*Periorbital lines- crow’s feet!
*Tear trough circles- these are areas directly beneath the eyes; they deepen with age and loss of skin’s natural collagen.
*Cheeks- also due to loss of collagen, the natural roundness of our cheeks disappears with age.  Today fillers are used to augment the appearance by contouring and adding fullness back to the cheeks.
*Nasolabial folds- the lines from the bottoms of our nose to our mouth. Very natural and present from childhood, they deepen with age.
*Vermilion border- the area where the outside of the lips meets the normal skin; this can be augmented for fullness, either to increase natural thin lips or to replace lost fullness, especially in the upper lip which tends to fall with age.
*Perioral lines- those lines often had by long-term smokers, and can occur as a natural consequence of age.
*Smile lines- these are closely positioned to nasolabial folds, yet lower and are separate.
*Oral commissures- (marionette lines) the lines going down from sides of mouth, caused by weight loss, aging, and/or sun damage.

Additional procedures possible with fillers today are chin augmentation, elimination of jowls due to facial volume loss, acne and surgical scarring.
