Using Skincare Products or In-Office Procedures?

Hardly anyone is totally satisfied with the shape, size and appearance of their bodies. Because of this, many of us have self confidence problems. While diet and exercise can change the shape of our bodies and the size of clothing we wear, nothing but cosmetic surgery can put an end to self consciousness about wrinkles, empty skin, scaring, deformities or other body flaws. With the advances in medicine in the last sixty years, it should be no surprise to anyone that the popularity of plastic surgery has skyrocketed.

With this dramatic increase, questions have arisen. Is cosmetic surgery always necessary? Not according to Dr. Calvert, a board certified plastic surgeon. While most dramatic changes will require surgery, there are a few procedures that can be prevented with the use of certain skincare products. For example, glycolic acid based cleansers and nutrient face creams can sometimes replace chemical peels that are normally performed as in office procedures at Dr. Calvert's office.

Here to Help AHA exfoliating cleanser is a glycolic acid containing cleanser that is a perfect example of a cleanser that can replace a chemical peel in some cases. Essential Nutrient Face Cream is also one of Dr. Calvert's recommended products that can sometimes replace in office procedures. It restores elasticity, speeds healing after surgical procedures and smoothes skin post-op. It is also quite effective at helping dry, tired or ageing skin.

Into the Deep Thermo Mineral Deep Cleanser uses minerals to deep clean the skin. Many manufacturers are beginning to see the incredible benefits of mineral cleansers on the skin. Mineral cleansers are effective and more natural than chemical based cleansers. They leave the skin clean and smooth and can be used several times per day. They can not, however, replace an in office chemical peel.

If you are considering having an in office procedure done to make your skin more evenly toned, smooth and youthful looking, consider using one of these products first. Chemical peels should be used as a last resort. If you still feel you need an in office procedure, contact Dr. Calvert's office at one of his two locations for a consultation.  http://www.drcalvert.com/.
